Getty Images’ contributors can now promote work sold through gettyimages.com using the new online Artist Digital Toolbox—and receive a commission.
The toolbox was developed following contributor requests for tools, apps, logos and Web banners they could use to help steer traffic to their images and footage on www.gettyimages.com from their own Web sites, Flickr streams, Facebook pages, blogs and other online outlets. The new Getty tools can be personalized, and contributors can also choose which images or clips to showcase and in which format—static or dynamic.
According to vice president of creative imagery Andrew Saunders, Getty’s new contributor affiliate program offers the company an opportunity to recognize photographers’ contribution to the company’s business. As is typical for the medium, affiliates will earn commissions on purchases resulting from the traffic they generate: 15% commission on new user purchases and 7% on purchases made by existing Getty Images customers.
