Explanation to Readers
If you’re a photographer interested in selling, or licensing rights to the pictures, this site is for you. Here photographers with practical experience in the areas they write about offer insights on a wide range of topics related to maximizing photography earnings.
Much of the material will be of interest to full-time professionals and is aimed at helping them keep up with developing trends, but part-timers and hobbyists whose only interest is in earning a little extra money from the pictures they produce will also find useful information here.
The default listing of stories is by the most recent entered. Stories may also be organized by category, author or keyword making it easy to find those that relate to your specific area of interest. For your convenience we offer, FREE of charge, a weekly email with headlines and brief summaries of the stories published in the previous week. (See sample email) (Sign up to receive email). Anyone may search the archive at any time.
When you find a story topic of interest there is a small charge to open and read the entire article. Fees are based on a credit system. (Purchase credits here.) If you have credits in your account when you click on a story headline the full story will automatically open and the number of credits required for reading that story will be automatically deducted from your account. The number of credits remaining in your account is always listed at the top right of the home page. The number of credits required to read each story is listed in the first line under the headline and will vary depending on the story. You will be notified by email whenever you have fewer than 5 credits remaining. When you are logged in your account balance will appear beside your name at the top right of the home page.
All stories are easily printed for your personal use, but each story is copyrighted and you may not email a story to other users. If you want to tell a friend about a particular story, click on the email a link at the bottom of each story. However, the friend will need to open a separate account to read it.
If you haven’t established an account, or have no credits remaining in your account, you will be given step-by-step instructions in establishing an account and purchasing credits. You may purchase additional credits at any time by clicking on “Buy More.”
To read a story you must log into the site by entering your email address and password.
Initially, you’ll find a heavy focus on stories related to stock photography, but we hope to quickly add information from experienced professionals in other photographic disciplines.
Purchasing Credits
There is a fee to read the full text of each story on this site. Stories vary in length and the number of words is noted under each story title. Also listed under the description is the author’s name, date published, credits required to read the story, number of words and number of comments. The fee for many stories is 2 credits, but that varies depending on the story.
While you can read brief descriptions of each story for FREE, you must be logged in and have purchased a package of credits before you can read the full text of any story. The minimum package price is $25.00 for 20 credits. Clicking on a story title will automatically open the story and deduct the appropriate number of credits from your account. Discounts are available with the purchase of larger credit packages bringing the price down to as low as $.85 per credit. You only pay for the stories you actually want to read.
